Advice to Do Your Homework Before Getting Advice

Hallam Jones Insurance & Financial Advisers principle Mark Jones was recently quoted in an article for the Rotorua Review.

The article came in response to a piece about financial adviser Linnet Lewis, who plead guilty to 16 charges of theft by a person in a special relationship. Over a period of more than 6 years Lewis style more than $1 million from elderly clients.

Mark Jones urges people to do their research when seeking financial advice.

"Check up on them, look at websites, check they are registered and preferably Authorised Financial Advisers. These people must have Professional Indemnity insurance and must supply a disclosure statement telling you about them and what type of advice they can give. The regulations are there to help protect you. Use them."
